What kind of story would you like to see from me next? I’ve been trying to work on Guilty Roads, but I have all these other ideas bouncing around in my brain and am having trouble committing to any one story (including GR). I have this problem every time I finish a story I’ve been working on for awhile; I call it “WADD,” or “Writer’s Attention Deficit Disorder.” The disorder may be imaginary, but the struggle is real. So, just for fun, I’m looking for reader input. Maybe knowing your preferences will help push me in a certain direction.
Below are some very vague descriptions of some of the ideas I’ve been considering, and under that is a poll. Check any that sound like something you’d read. I can’t promise I’ll go with the majority, but it may help me to know what sounds good to you. Thanks!
Option #1: BSB/ER crossover
I’ve wanted to write a crossover with ER for a long time because it’s my all-time favorite TV show (surprise, surprise). This one would be an old-school fic set in the ’90s and would have a ton of medical drama, obviously. Most of the focus would be on BSB.
Option #2: Nick drama/suspense
Nick would be the main character in this one, but the other boys would be in it, too. Brian and/or Howie (or both) would play an important role. It would be set in the present.
Option #3: Kevin/Nick drama
This one would have a lot of angst and bromance. Kevin and Nick would be the main characters, but AJ would be a strong supporting character, with Brian and Howie in minor roles. It would be set around 2007-2008.
Option #4: Brian drama/horror
Brian would be the focus of this one, but all the other guys would be in it a lot, too. It would be set in the present.

Definitely an ER crossover! In the archive section, there’s a fanfic with the boys set in a hospital (Backstreet General) – Kevin was a serious surgeon who never smiled, Brian was a Patch Adams-type paediatrician, AJ was a heavily-tattooed medical student with a violent streak, Nick was another med student who constant had vomit chucked on him by the patients (Why is Nick always the fanfic kick puppy?), and Howie only made brief appearances as a paramedic. Please, no more Brian or Nick stories – I love them, but remember there are three other members! Maybe you could write a story in which Brian is forced to leave because of his vocal issues and he’s replaced by JC Chasez…I’d pay to read that! Oh, and a few comical stories would be appreciated. Thanks!?
Ah yes, I remember that story. I have an old collaboration, Code Blue, that was similar. My stories will probably always feature either Brian or Nick in a main role because I just like to write about them most, but I’ve been trying to branch out. Sick as My Secrets was the first Howie novel I’ve written, and one of the ideas in the poll is for a Kevin novel. I’ve done AJ novels in the past. I like group stories too. The ER one would feature the whole group pretty equally, I think. Thanks for the idea about JC – I wouldn’t write a JC story even if you did pay me LOL, but you should write it for yourself! It’s an interesting idea, just not my thing. Thanks for the input!

Thanks! I think the ER crossover will definitely happen at some point; it’s an idea I’ve been thinking about for years. I was thinking it was going to be my next story before I finished Sick as My Secrets, but then the last few chapters of that were so medical drama-heavy, I felt like I needed to write something different after that. We’ll see!
Sounds good. By the way I love code blue but cant seem to find it to read it. I loved reading that alot. Anymore.

Yep I just like the whole medical drama stuff kind of things. There was another bsb medical series that used to be around to complete finished but its not around anymore.
The only other one I know of that was similar to Code Blue is the Backstreet General series. I hosted the first story, “In a Heartbeat,” which is still posted on the DS archive site.
