Chapter 5

AN: Alright I know. Nick was very cruel in the last chapter. I don’t think he’s that way, I’ve already stated that. But I do think that people react that way to some of their very closest friends. I was in a gay chat room with my friend the other day because he wanted me to meet his boyfriend on the computer first. (He’s very cute…hehe). I was sickened by some of the people in there verbally gay bashing the gay people in the chat. It was enough to bring me to tears, and my friend to for he called sobbing about some evil IM he received. It just inspired me to write more and harsher. So please if what I now write offends anybody, don’t read this story. But I still am keeping my vow of no slash what-so-ever so that all people can read and not be “grossed-out”.

“I can’t figure out how to work this damn key card!” Matt screamed at the hotel door. “It just won’t fucking open!”

“That’s because you’re at the wrong door.” Steve pointed out. “We’re the next door over.”

Matt and Steve Wickel were two brothers staying at the hotel that night. Matt was a big man, and he had had enough drinks to take away tiny skills, such as reading. Steve on the other hand, hadn’t had one drink. Like his brother he was also a very large man. Both of them spent lots of time working out and enjoying the fact that most pretty woman liked a man with muscles.

“Shut-up.” Matt growled. “I was just testing to see if you had had anything to drink. I wasn’t going to stay in the room with you if you had.”

Steve rolled his eyes as Matt moved to the door next to him. A sudden scream from across the hall drew both of their attention. A tall blond man had come running out of room from across the hall. He was chased by a shorter man with sandy blond hair.

“Nick!” The shorter man called.

The taller man, Nick turned slowly, his joints stiff with an unrelenting hate. He glared at the smaller man.

“What do you want fag?” He asked coldly.

Matt’s mouth dropped open. “That man’s a fag?” He whispered ruthlessly to Steve.

“Let’s hope not.” Steve answered just as coldly as Nick had. “Cause you know how we hate fags.”

Matt nodded as they turned their attention back to the arguing men across the hall. The shorter man had just said something to Nick that had seemed to enrage him. With an alarming quickness, he cleared the distance between them and slammed the shorter man up against the wall.

“To you?” He hissed. “Brian answer me one question and answer it truthfully, are you in love with me?”

The shorter man, Brian, hung his head slightly before answering so quietly, Matt and Steve had to strain to hear it.

“Yes.”

Matt and Steve both exchanged cold, wide eyed stares. This was almost like a soap opera. The key word about that sentence was almost.

“YOU SICK LITTLE GAY FUCK!!” Nick screamed, throwing Brian to the floor. He hit hard and made no move to get up. Just laid there, choking on his own sorry tears.

“Stay away from me.” He continued, standing over the man. “Never come near me again. If you do I will hurt your gay ass, you hear me fag?”

With that Nick stormed off to the far end of the hall and slammed the door to his own room shut. Two new men emerged from the rooms on either side of Brian’s. One was short with bleached blond hair and a dark goatee. Tattoos adorned almost every part of his body. The other man was shorter than the first with long dark hair. They were both noticeably Spanish. They ran up to Brian, who was still curled up on the floor.

“Brian!” The tattooed man yelled. “It’s me, AJ. Answer me buddy, what’s wrong?”

The tattooed man, AJ kneeled next to his friend, worry evident on his face. Matt wondered if he knew that Brian was gay. When Brian didn’t respond the other man kneeled down on his other side.

“Looks like he hit his head.” He said calmly. “We should get him back into his room.”

AJ nodded and then looked sadly at the other man. He spoke so softly that Steve and Matt just barely heard him.

“Hey, Howie.” He asked quietly. “Do you think this has anything to do with Nick?”

Howie looked up at AJ. “Judging by the screaming we heard, I’d say yes.”

With that final thought they picked up Brian, and walked back into the room he had come rushing out of. As soon as the door shut, Matt and Steve opened there door and ran in. They sat down and stared blankly at each other. Finally Matt broke the silence.

“We’re in a hotel with a fag.” He whispered. “Now what?”

Steve looked at the phone and then back at Matt. An evil smile spread across his face.

“We call Dad.” He grinned.

Matt smiled as well and ran for the phone. Picking it up he quickly dialed his fathers number.

After three rings he picked up.

“Yeah?” Mr. Wickel answered gruffly. “Who are ‘ya and what do ‘ya want?”

“Hey Dad, it’s me and Steve.” Matt answered happily.

“Boys!” Mr. Wickel’s tone changed swiftly to one of joy. “How the hell are ‘ya?”

“Good Dad, except we got a problem.” Matt paused for a second and then continued. “You see we are staying at this really fancy hotel and there’s a fag rooming right across from us.”

“A fag!” His father screamed. “You mean a gay little fucking pansy?! Well have you done anything about it yet?”

Matt paused again. He covered the receiver and looked at Steve.

“He wants to know if we did anything yet.” He told him before turning back to his pervious conversation. “Not yet Dad. We wanted to talk to you first. So what do you think we should do?”

There was a pause on the other line and Matt could tell his father was smiling, just thinking of all the possibilities for this situation. Finally he spoke in grim but pleased voice.

“It’s time for an old fashion gay bashing.”
