Now that I’m done writing A Heart That Isn’t Mine, I don’t see any reason to keep stringing you along and making you wait a week in between chapters. I’m eager to post the ending, so Chapter 47 is up, and there will be more where that one came from soon… maybe even tomorrow!

Well, not quite. But if you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen that I did finish A Heart That Isn’t Mine today! I’m just not posting the end today. I am posting Chapter 46 though, and I think you’ll enjoy it! There will be four more chapters after this one, so we are definitely winding down, for real this time.
I’m sure I’ll write an end-of-story author’s note to post with the final chapter, but for now, let me just say, with as slowly as I write and as long as my novels tend to be, I finish stories so infrequently that it feels really, really good when I do! Even though it took me just over fifteen months to write this one (not long at all, by my recent standards), it was such a challenging one to write that putting it down on paper, bringing it to life, and being happy with the final product feels especially satisfying. I really appreciate those of you who have been giving me feedback along the way. Looking forward to your comments is half the fun, so thank you!
Surprise! I’m literally in the middle of the last scene of A Heart That Isn’t Mine as I write this, so I’m probably safe to start posting more than one chapter a week without the risk of leaving you hanging. I know I left Nick in a pretty dire situation in the last chapter (more like the last ten chapters), so I decided to be nice and not make you wait until Saturday for the next chapter. After all, tomorrow is World Kindness Day – and since most of my regular readers for this one seem to be in time zones ahead of mine, it may already be World Kindness Day by the time you see this.
If I had planned ahead better, I would have posted Chapter 45 last week on National Nachos Day because I’m pretty sure this chapter contains the cheesiest scene I have written in the post-Nick & Claire era. Consider yourself warned.

It’s been a busy, exhausting couple weeks of work, and my writing has slowed down a lot… but I’m almost done with A Heart That Isn’t Mine! I’m literally on the last chapter and have one scene left to write. I’m hoping to finish it this weekend, but I’ve done a whole lot of nothing so far. We’ll see.

Happy November! I’m really glad to know Nick is safe and having fun in Hawaii right now instead of being subjected to the horrors that happened during this month in a certain alternate universe…
Speaking of horror, I wanted to update on Halloween, but I decided to spend the couple of hours I had between Halloween festivities and bed writing instead. My “end of story” writing streak has been going for over two months now, but I’m almost done with it for real now – one more chapter left to write! Chapter 43 of A Heart That Isn’t Mine is up, and until Thursday, this was actually two separate chapters… but then 49 got too long, and I decided to split it into two and combine the old 43 and 44 instead.
