Happy Fall, y’all!

Sorry I’m so late in the day with this update!  I just couldn’t seem to tear myself away from writing 00Carter, decorating for fall, and watching the Chucky marathon to post my chapter.  This is my favorite time of year!

Chapter 24 of My Brother’s Keeper is up, and it’s a long one, easily the length of two average-sized chapters.  My chapters have been getting long lately, which I guess helps make up for the fact that I’m only updating every other week.  It’s like you’re getting two chapters every two weeks.  Hope you enjoy!

Never forget…

It’s been an emotional weekend so far.  I always feel sad on September 11th, as I take some time to remember 9/11 and shed some tears.  I can’t believe it’s been twenty years.  My heart goes out to all the families who were personally affected by the terrorist attacks and their aftermath.  I will never forget that day or the days that followed.

I wish my country had united in the face of the current pandemic the way we did after 9/11.  It’s so depressing to see that despite everything we responsible people have been doing – getting vaccinated, social distancing, staying home, and wearing masks when we do have to go out – COVID-19 continues to be a problem.  I can’t help but feel angry at those who have blatantly ignored the advice of medical experts and disrespected our frontline workers by refusing to get vaccinated, wear masks, or follow the other recommended mitigations… especially when their ignorance and disregard for others affects my vacation plans.  I had been looking forward to listening to the BSB Christmas album and spending the first part of my winter break at their shows in Vegas with my friends.  It’s been over two years now since I’ve been to a BSB concert or seen any of my friends from the fandom in person, and I couldn’t wait to reunite with some of my favorite people in the world.  Like most of you, I was devastated to read the Boys’ announcement yesterday.  Even if you weren’t able to go to one of the shows, I know we were all looking forward to finally hearing that long-awaited album, and now we’ll have to wait yet another year.  I’m not upset with the Boys, as I know how hard of a decision that must have been for them to make, but I am upset with the people whose irresponsible actions have perpetuated this pandemic, thus contributing to further postponements and cancellations.  We all want life to get back to normal, but we all need to do our part and act responsibly so that it can finally happen.  If anyone reading this has been hesitant to get the vaccine, please reconsider.  The BSB Army is counting on you!

I’ll step down from my soapbox now and get to the update.  Chapter 23 of My Brother’s Keeper has been posted.  I would love to tell you it’s a light-hearted chapter that will make you laugh, but no, it’s fairly depressing too.  Fitting for this weekend, I guess.  Anyway, thanks for reading!

My Brother’s Keeper

Chapter 22 of My Brother’s Keeper is up!  It’s a long one, so hopefully it will make up for no update last week.  I didn’t hear back from anyone regarding my update schedule, so I decided I’m just going to update every other weekend for a while until I either run out of chapters or accumulate enough to go back to weekly updates.  Writing has been slow-going lately, but now that school has started, I’m getting back into the routine of writing on weekends.

In other news, I’m not sure anyone reading this remembers or cares, but 00Carter is making a comeback!  Last updated in December 2012, that collaboration has been sitting dormant for almost a decade, waiting for my co-writers and I to resurrect it.  We finally got together about a month ago and decided to give it a shot, and we just finished our first episode in almost nine years this week!  We still have some editing we want to do before we post anything, but that means a 00Carter update is on the horizon.  Stay tuned!

Back to school…

Chapter 21 of My Brother’s Keeper is up!  This is a big chapter for Kevin.  I hope you enjoy it!

School starts for me next week, and my writing has really slowed down as I’ve been working on getting my classroom ready.  I only have three more chapters finished, enough to continue weekly updates through September 4.  Hopefully I’ll have at least one or two more chapters done by then, but at some point this fall, I’m going to catch up to myself.  So my question for you lovely readers is, would you rather me continue weekly updates until I run out of chapters and have to leave you hanging, or should I start updating every other week for a while so I can accumulate more chapters and still stick with a regular update schedule?  If you have an opinion, please leave a comment and let me know!  Thanks, as always, for your support!
