Merry Christmas!

Hey, I’m still alive!  Sorry for not updating since the start of the school year.  I hope it will be the last year of this; I’ll finish my master’s program at the end of June.  I do still have a few chapters of Sick as My Secrets done from this past summer, but I haven’t posted them because I haven’t been writing, and it seems unfair to tease you only to stop updating again.  If I get some more written on it over my Christmas break, I’ll probably post some.  That is my goal, but I make no promises.

That said, I’m not posting just to apologize again.  I actually do have an update!  I started a short Christmas story that, just like last year, isn’t going to be finished in time for Christmas, but I am going to give you a sneak peek and a promise to finish it before my break’s over.  It’s not another pandaskunk story, but a little companion piece to Curtain Call.  I know – where did that come from, right??  Well actually, I’ve been toying with the idea of writing a Nick and Cary one-shot for like two years, but – shocker – never got around to it.  I originally had an idea inspired by the song “Make Believe,” but when I heard Nick’s new album, All American, the idea changed.  Two of the songs reminded me so much of Cary that I thought it was a shame Curtain Call was written during the I’m Taking Off era and not this one because I totally would have used them in the story if I could have.  Then I thought, “Well, maybe I still can…”

So if you’re interested to read more about Cary and Nick (and not Zombie Nick this time, I promise!), enjoy this little sneak peek of my short story, If….  I will be back with the rest sometime soon – and hopefully with some Sick as My Secrets too!

Merry Christmas!

On the tenth day of Undead…

The final chapter of Song for the Undead, Chapter 120, has been posted!

Rose and I want to thank everyone who has read this story, especially those readers who have been with us since the beginning, back in February 2009 when we first started posting this story as “4.15.12” to disguise the fact that it was going to be a zombie story.  (See, this was before The Walking Dead, when zombies weren’t so popular.)  It took us seven years to finish it, but we always knew we would.  Thanks for sticking with us!  Life is busy for both of us, but we will be back with another collaboration at some point – we’ve accumulated quite a few ideas over the past seven years!

In the meantime, Chapter 25 of Sick as My Secrets is also up.  Enjoy!  School starts for me next week, and I am already suffering from a lack of writing time, but I have a few more chapters banked that I will continue to post on a weekly basis until I run out.  Hopefully I’ll find some time to continue writing here and there once I settle into a routine.  Thanks for reading!
