My zombie gave to me…
Chapter 112 of Song for the Undead!
Enjoy, and we’ll be back with another one tomorrow!
I’m back with some big news. After seven years, Song for the Undead is finally DONE! This is a momentous occasion, not only because it’s been so long since Rose and I started this story, but also because it’s been so long since I’ve finished a co-written novel at all! The last one was Visions of the Past with Rachel in 2000. Yeah, so I don’t have such a good track record with collaborations.
That said, now that Undead is done, we’re ready to start posting the final ten chapters. Starting today, we will be posting one chapter a day until the story is up in its entirety. So if you’ve been following Undead, get ready to do some reading, and if you haven’t… well, what are you waiting for?! At least you know you won’t be left hanging on this one.
Enjoy!
I haven’t updated Sick as My Secrets since Howie’s birthday last August, and that is just sad! I will apologize one more time for being so lame this last year. I’m sorry!
Now that that’s out the way… Chapter 23 is up!
I’ve been sitting on this chapter for a year, trying to decide if the first draft of it was really where I wanted to go with this part of the story or if I wanted to take it in a different, less dramatic direction. Seems like I run into this dilemma at some point in the middle of all of my medical dramas, when I have to decide whether to put my main character through more pain and suffering for the sake of drama or give them a break. I always, always choose drama, but sometimes I look back and wonder, Would the story have been as good or better if I had just skipped this part? But I guess I will never find out because I went ahead and stuck with my original plan in this one too. 😉 I figured it’s a fanfic, and you guys wouldn’t be reading it if you didn’t want drama. The more, the better, right? I hope so, ’cause here it goes. Enjoy Chapter 23!
I’m going to keep updating at least once a week until I run out of chapters, so there will be more where this one came from soon. Also, stay tuned for some Song of the Undead chapters in the very near future because we are SO close to finishing it!
Hello!
I realize it has been a long, long time since I’ve updated any stories on the site – over five months, which is unusually long for me – so I thought I would take some time to at least update you guys on what’s going on with me and the site.
Don’t worry; it’s nothing terrible. Basically, it’s the same excuse I’ve been giving for the last year or so: I’ve been BUSY! I know that is the same lame excuse almost all fanfic writers give (if they even bother to give one) before they fall off the face of the internet, but I want to reassure my faithful readers that I’m not going anywhere. As you may know if you’ve been following my sporadic updates over the last year or so, I am a new homeowner and a grad student. These added responsibilities have made it really hard for me to find a balance between real life and the fanfic world. I used to be able to work full time or go to school full time and still find time to read and write for fun, but it turns out I have a hard time doing both. Having a house and yard that need work on the weekends, which used to be my prime writing time, has made it even harder. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that I only have one more year to go on my master’s degree; I will be done by this time next year. After that, I will have more time and energy on nights and weekends to write.
More good news: Since I’m done with my classes for this summer, I have been writing! I’m not posting any new chapters tonight, but I promise that I will have some story updates before summer’s over. Song for the Undead is literally two chapters away from being finished, and once it is, Rose and I will start posting the rest. I have also been holding onto some old chapters of Sick as My Secrets and have just started working on new ones, which I should be ready to start posting sometime in the next week or so. What happened with that story is that I hit a figurative fork in the road and wasn’t sure I was committed to which way I was going with it, so I wanted to write ahead and see how it went before I posted any more, in case I decided to go back and rewrite later. I haven’t lost interest in it and have very intention of finishing it someday (though I have no idea when that will be).
Once school starts in August, my updates will probably become pretty sporadic again, but I promise that after I’m done with my master’s, I will be BACK! I just renewed the dreamers-sanctuary.com domain for another two years, which I would not do if I thought I was done with fanfic. I still love it, love writing, love the Boys, and love my readers. I’m sorry I have been so flaky this past year and hope to make it up to you all once I have my free time back. Thanks for understanding and sicking with me!
~Julie
Hey guys! Long time, no update! Sorry about that. Work and school and life have gotten the best of me the last few months. However, with spring here and Dreamer’s Sanctuary’s 15th anniversary upon us, I decided to spruce up the site with a new layout! Head to dreamers-sanctuary.com to check it out, and let me know what you think! 🙂
Hope to be back with some story updates soon!
