Throwback Thursday #14: Top Five Favorite Comedic Fics

With just one week left in July, we’re wrapping up the month with jokes! This week, I’m blogging about my favorite humor stories. Comedy may not the genre I’m best known for writing, but I do enjoy occasionally taking a break from the drama to write something light and funny! With that being said, I do have a rather twisted, morbid sense of humor, so even my comedies tend to be a little dark. Here are my top five favorite comedic fics!

TWWBW Update!

Sorry I seem to be on the once-a-month story update plan, but that’s just how it’s been going lately.  This has admittedly not been my most productive summer, from a writing standpoint, although my streak is still going strong at 1,276 days in a row!  I actually had my best day of writing all summer yesterday, which is why I didn’t update on a Saturday like I usually do.  I didn’t want to tear myself away from the chapter I was working on to edit the one I’m posting today.

With that being said, Chapter 74 of The World Will Be Waiting is up!  This is a short and sweet chapter that was originally going to be a lot longer, until I ended up separating it into two chapters when the second half got way too long.  I finished 75 last night and started 76 this morning, so I’m still plugging away.  But now that July is winding down, I’m gonna get busy again in the next few weeks, so I may have to stay on the once-a-month update plan for the foreseeable future.  As always, feedback is motivating and much appreciated, so thank you to everyone who has or will let me know they’re still reading, either here or on AO3 or social media.  I hope you enjoy the new chapter!

Throwback Thursday #13: Top Five Favorite Millennium Era Fanfics

Can you believe it? Not only are we halfway through 2025 and this series of twenty-five retrospective blogs for Dreamer’s Sanctuary’s twenty-fifth anniversary, but we’re just one day away from the release of Millennium 2.0 and the start of the new residency! To commemorate the occasion, I’m throwing it way back to the Millennium era for this week’s blog. The Millennium era will always be one of my favorite BSB eras, as it’s when I went from a casual fan to a die-hard fan, attended my first concert, discovered fanfic, and eventually started writing it myself. My first stories took place during the Millennium era, too. Considering I was fourteen when I started writing fanfic, these fics are far from my best work and don’t hold a candle to my adult writing. But I’ve kept them online for all these years because they show where I started and how far I’ve come since then. They also serve as a time capsule, giving younger fans a glimpse into a bygone era. With that being said, here are my top five “favorite” Millennium-inspired stories – and what to read instead of them!

TWWBW Update!

I’m back with an actual story update!  Sorry, I know updates on The World Will Be Waiting have been slow lately.  That’s due to a combination of factors:  long chapters, slow writing speed, external distractions, and, at times, a lack of internal motivation on my part.  To be clear, I love this story, and there is not a doubt in my mind that, barring some kind of tragedy that takes me out of commission, I will keep writing it to completion.  But, after working on it literally every day for the past three years, I’ve definitely run out of steam and slowed down some.  It happens; no one stays in the “honeymoon phase” of a novel forever, but working through the inevitable slumps is a part of the process of finishing one.  While I do have a few other incomplete novels to my name, I usually finish what I start and am 100% committed to completing this one.  I just want to reassure my readers of this, so you don’t assume that a lack of updates means a lack of commitment on my part.

With that being said, Chapter 73 of The World Will Be Waiting is up!  This chapter has actually been finished for a while, but I’ve been holding onto it while I worked on the next one, which is almost done as well.  This one revolves around the big Frick & Frack fight from the documentary.  I’ve written a one-shot about that from Brian’s point of view, but it was interesting to look at it from Kevin’s point of view, especially through the unique lens he has in this particular story.  I hope you enjoy it!  Thanks for reading and for being patient with me!

Throwback Thursday #12: Top Five Favorite Sex Scenes

Summer has officially started, and things are heating up here at Dreamer’s Sanctuary! This week, I’m blogging about my favorite “hot and steamy” scenes. I put that in quotes because I don’t write many sex scenes, and the ones I do write aren’t usually very sexy compared to what you’d read in a typical romance novel or smut fic. Admittedly, sex and romance are not really my forte as a writer, but I do enjoy writing romantic subplots and include sex scenes when I feel they will contribute to character development and/or further the plot. Here are my five favorites!
