A Statement on the Death of Aaron Carter

A Statement on the Death of Aaron Carter

Well, this is not the post I wanted to write today.  For anyone who hasn’t heard, Aaron Carter was found dead earlier this afternoon.  You can read more details here.  While I can’t say this is a shocking turn of events for anyone who has even somewhat followed Aaron’s very public downward spiral over the past few years, it is tragic, and my heart breaks for the people who loved him and wanted the best for him, especially Nick and Angel.  My thoughts are with them and their families.  I’m glad that Nick is with his Backstreet brothers right now and has at least today off to begin to process this, although I’m sure it’s hard for him to be so far away from the rest of his family.

In light of this tragedy, I’ve decided to postpone my planned update for today.  Coincidentally, the next chapter of The World Will Be Waiting touches on Leslie’s death, and I don’t feel right posting it today, knowing Nick is going through this again with another sibling.  I much prefer fictional drama to the real life kind, and this just hits too close to home right now.  My apologies to anyone who was looking forward to reading it today, but I’m sure you will understand.  I’ll post it next Saturday, if not before.  I just wanted to let you know why I’m choosing to delay the update.  Please keep the Carter family in your thoughts and prayers.

I was very sad to hear about this. I was, and am more of a BSB and Nick Carter fan, than an Aaron Carter fan. But, I still like Aaron’s earlier music. I had gotten his album ‘Love from off of apple music; but I haven’t gotten around to giveing it a listen yet.
I’m almost done with Nick’s book Faceing the Music: and Living to Talk About It. I wonder if he’ll write another book now with the passing of his brother. This whole family have been through some crap. But, I know they will get through this.

    1. Same here. I have a couple of Aaron’s earlier albums but was never really that big of a fan. I haven’t heard much of his more recent music.

Nick’s book is great! I don’t know if he’ll write another one at some point or not. I’m sure his feelings about all this are very complicated. The Carter family dynamics are very sad. I’m just glad Nick got his life together and didn’t go down the same road that Aaron did. I’m so proud of him for breaking the cycle and providing a stable, loving home and family for his own kids to grow up in.

Yeah, the Carter family is complacaded. Did you ever read the book Nick’s mom wrote about him? I used to have it when I was a teenager, and my mom had started reading it to me, but I don’t think we ever finished it.
I would love for Nick to write a book about his life, not just as a Backstreet Boy, but also his life where his family is concerned.

        1. No, I never read Nick’s mom’s book. I wasn’t that big of a Nick fan when it came out, and I would never support her by buying it now, knowing how she’s treated him. I would love for Nick to write another book too.

Since your not done writing this story as of yet, maybe at some point, you could address Aaron’s death. That is; of course if this story is set in today’s time. But if it’s not, then maybe you could write one?

    1. The World Will Be Waiting is set in the IAWLT era, so I won’t be addressing Aaron’s death in it. I probably won’t write a story just about that either, but it may be included in a future story at some point.
