Listening to the new single, “Let It Be Me,” I realized this song has the complete opposite message of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”

DGBMH: “If you’re gonna be someone that hurts somebody just for fun, then do it to a heart that isn’t mine.  Baby don’t go breaking my heart.”

LIBM: “If you’re gonna hurt someone, then let it be me. If you’re gonna break my heart, I’m ready to bleed.”

I’m updating early today because I took the afternoon off work to drive down to St. Louis for the show tonight!  I found myself with an hour to kill before I need to get on the road, so I decided to go ahead and post the next chapter.  Chapter 33 of A Heart That Isn’t Mine is up!  This is a long chapter that’s chock full of information (and even a little comic relief, if you have a twisted sense of humor like me), so I hope you’ll enjoy it.  Thank you again to everyone who has been leaving feedback. I can’t tell you how much it means to me! I was very unsure about how this story would be received, especially once we got to this point, so the fact that many of you are enjoying it even more now makes me very happy!

Happy anniversary, Brian and Leighanne!  Sorry about what happened to you in that last chapter.

Since I had the day off today (Happy Labor Day to all the hard-working folks who also had the day off!), I decided to go ahead and post the next chapter of A Heart That Isn’t Mine.  Chapter 32 is up!  It’s fitting that I just finished decorating my house for my favorite season, fall/Halloween, because this novel is turning into a horror story.  I’m glad I haven’t managed to scare many of you away yet – thanks so much for all the feedback on the last couple of chapters!  I love reading your reactions!

…now let me show you the shape of my heart.

The time has come for me to start posting the fourth and final part of A Heart That Isn’t Mine!  Like I said in my last update, things are gonna get crazy… and weird.  Like, really weird.  I’ve written some weird shit in other stories, most of them challenges, comedies, and Nick deaths or kills, but the last ten chapters of this story include some of the most fucked-up scenes I’ve ever written in a serious novel.  You’ve been warned. But based on your feedback for the last chapter, you seem to like that sort of thing… at least I hope you do!

It would have been perfect to post Chapter 31 on August 31, but I have a busy weekend planned and may not be around to update then, so I decided to go ahead and put it up early rather than late.  I’ve been super inspired this week and have written a scene every night.  Thank you so much to the people who commented on Chapter 30 – you definitely helped motivate me!

One more disclaimer:  This chapter was written weeks ago and was not at all inspired by that sexy, shirtless workout pic Brian posted yesterday.  But it does give me the perfect excuse to post that pic again here. 😉  Enjoy!

Back with another chapter of A Heart That Isn’t Mine!  Chapter 30 is up.  This concludes Part III of the story.  Only one more part to go!  I have 40 chapters planned, so we’re heading into the final stretch here, and if you couldn’t tell by the last chapter, things are about to get crazy!  If you’ve been reading from the beginning, you might remember me warning you that this story was not for the faint of heart.  I meant it.

I will have much more to say in a few chapters, but for now, enjoy 30.  Feedback is always appreciated!  I’ve been looking forward to getting to this point in the story ever since I got the idea for it over two years ago, and now that we’re here, I’m excited to read your reactions.  Thanks for reading!
