Happy Holidays!

Happy Boxing Day! I hope you had a merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, or whatever holiday(s) you celebrate this time of year.  I know it wasn’t the same for many of us, but let’s hope next year will be better.  New Year’s Eve is not normally one of my favorite holidays, but I’m really looking forward to a fresh start in January.

I’m also hoping to finish The Road to Bethlehem over my winter break, or at least come close to finishing.  I’m still a few chapters ahead of my posting schedule and am on the final stretch of the story, but writing has been slow-going for the last few weeks.  Hopefully I’ll finish before I catch up to myself.  Chapter 13 is up today, and it’s one of my favorites.  I hope you enjoy it!

“We’ll save the world from right here in your car…”

Well, here we are – another Saturday, another new song to play on repeat!  And this time it’s truly a good one!  I’m in love with Nick’s new single “80’s Movie.”  Totally makes up for him not winning The Masked Singer.  I love to see 2020 ending on a high note!

Speaking of ending, we’re about halfway through The Road to Bethlehem, which is heading towards its climax.  I’m not done writing the story yet, but I anticipate it will be around 25 chapters long.  That’s super short compared to most of my novels, I know, but it’s different writing a story that takes place over a few days compared to one that spans months or even years like my cancer epics of yesteryear.  I could definitely get used to writing stories this length again.  It’s nice being able to finish multiple stories in a year.  Thanks, 2020!  Anyway, Chapter 12 is up. I hope you enjoy it!

This might leave some damage… damage… damage…

Hope everyone’s been enjoying our early Christmas present from the Boys, “Matches.”  It may not be the greatest song in the world, but to have any new music from BSB to end this horrible year is a gift I’m grateful for.  Especially since we didn’t get our Christmas album once again – though I’m glad it’s not for the same reasons as in The Road to Bethlehem.

Speaking of my story, Chapter 11 is up!  Hope you enjoy!

The Road to Bethlehem

Chapter 10 of The Road to Bethlehem is up and contains an update on Kevin!  Sorry to have left you hanging… but not that sorry – you know I love a good cliffhanger!  This story has been so much fun to write.  I’m glad so many of you seem to be enjoying it, too.  Thanks for the comments you’ve left me, whether here or on other platforms.  I appreciate each and every one!

Thankful

Happy belated birthday to both the first baby Backstreet Boy, Baylee, and the first Backstreet girl, Ava!  I can’t believe Brian is old enough to have an adult child.  How did that happen?!

I hope those of you in the U.S. had a happy Thanksgiving on Thursday!  Although it looked different for many of us, there’s still a lot to be thankful for this year.  I’m thankful for my family and grateful that we have managed to avoid contracting COVID.  I’m thankful for the healthcare workers who are taking care of those who have not been so fortunate, as well as all the other essential workers who are putting themselves on the front line to keep the world going.  I’m thankful for my friends in the fandom and looking forward to seeing them again when this is over.  I’m thankful for the Boys, who have found ways to keep entertaining us even though they had to postpone their tour.  Without the pandemic, we would not have been blessed with podcasts, AJ on Dancing With the Stars, and Nick on The Masked Singer.  I’m thankful that I am still able to work, but I’m also thankful for the time I’ve had to write and for everyone who has taken the time to read my writing.  Thank you!

Finally, I’m thankful for the shitshow that has been 2020 for inspiring the idea for The Road to Bethlehem.  This has been a fun story to write.  Sometimes it’s good to change things up a bit and torture the Boys out in the beauty of nature instead of inside a hospital, LOL.  Whenever I ask myself, “Is this too ridiculous to be believable?” I remember how much crazy stuff has happened in real life this year and realize nothing is too ridiculous for a story set in 2020.  With that being said, Chapter 9 is up!  Enjoy!
